Justice of the Peace
Your "JP" in New Hampshire
Services and Fees
My standard wedding officiant service includes a personal meeting (if desired) to get to know one another and talk about your
wedding plans. If you live far away or you have a busy schedule and need to keep planning time to a minimum, all pre-wedding
ceremony arrangements can be done via phone and email.
Once I've received the completed agreement form along with your deposit, your date is reserved. I'll send ceremony samples to
you for consideration and inspiration, as well as ideas for readings and optional rituals. You may use any ceremony "as-is" without
changes, or you can use what you like best from different samples and add ideas of your own. I'm very flexible and I encourage my
couples to be creative! You may also use vows that you've already chosen or written yourselves. It's up to you!
As we near your wedding day, I'll work with you via e-mail and over the phone to create a personalized ceremony that includes
your ideas and choices. The result will be a wonderful and meaningful wedding ceremony for you both. On your wedding day, I'll
perform your ceremony in the location of your choice, before a gathering of any size, formal or casual, large or small. Afterwards,
I'll file your marriage license and send you a reminder of how to obtain your certified marriage certificate.
OTHER SERVICES/PAYMENT INFORMATION:
Once your date is confirmed by me, your deposit is non-refundable. When I commit to your wedding, I not only reserve a spot for you on my calendar,
but I also invest time in the happy task of working with you and preparing your ceremony. The non-refundable retainer assures me of a portion of
compensation in the event you have to cancel (see below).
Although your deposit is non-refundable, it may be applied to a different day and time (up to 6 months beyond your original wedding date) with no
penalty, so long as you let me know at least 60 days prior to your original date.
Mileage fee -
I don't charge mileage for locations within a 20 mile radius of my home in Dover. I love to travel and perform weddings throughout New Hampshire, so
for all other locations, a modest $.50 per mile fee (round-trip from my home to the ceremony location and back) will apply. Ask me for a quote!
Rehearsals are a great way to help with pre-wedding jitters! For small informal weddings, a couple may find that their ceremony text allows them to do
a simple "walk-through" on their own. But for formal weddings with attendants and a processional, a rehearsal with me is definitely recommended. My
rehearsal fee is $85 for any location within a 20 mile radius of my home. For all other locations, the mileage fee above will also apply.
Payment options -
Payment for deposits may be by cash, check, or money order. All payments made the day of the rehearsal or ceremony must be by cash.
I offer two types of wedding services to fit most couples' needs:
Standard & Short-Notice.
A consultation in person or over the phone is always free.
Whether your plans are traditional, short & simple, or something in-between,
I'll deliver a beautiful ceremony that will be a cherished memory for you both!
Depending upon my availability, if your wedding will be in the next 7 days, I'd be happy to
officiate for you! Regardless of whether it's just the two of you (an elopement), or a
larger gathering of family and friends, all arrangements can be made via phone and e-mail.
Once your booking is confirmed with a completed agreement and payment in full (which
can be mailed or dropped off if time is limited), I'll work with you to personalize a simple
and beautiful ceremony to be performed at the place and time you've chosen.
Afterwards, I'll file your marriage license and send you a reminder of how to obtain your
certified marriage certificate.
Fee: $175 indoors or outdoors at any location within a 20 mile radius of my home in
Dover. (See below for rehearsal information.) I love to travel, so for all other
locations, there's only a modest mileage fee. There is a non-refundable $75 deposit
in order to reserve your wedding date/time. The balance is due in cash at your
rehearsal, of if there's no rehearsal, on your wedding day.
